Constantin’s new challenge before me, I drove from my house and workshop in Manor (20 minutes East of Austin) to the house of my good friend Ramon Fallen Star: about a half hour beautiful drive thru Texas scenery. By the end of the drive I had the Konstantinopolis design in my head. And started cutting ebony pieces.

The first Konstantinopolis rear plate: the Castle of the Seven Towers: an old prison then treasury of the Ottoman Empire
“That what remains eternal in this world, turned out to be a beautiful sound”.
Another Konstantinopolis rear engraving inspired by a Turkish postcard…
And the rear plate for Rich Robinson’s Konstantinopolis, the Tower of Babel.
